The U.S. Marine Corps has awarded a $74 million contract to the Bell Boeing V-22 Program, a strategic alliance between Boeing [NYSE: BA] and Bell Helicopter - Textron [NYSE: TXT], for seven Osprey ground-based trainers, which will reduce fuel usage and aircraft wear-and-tear, maximizing lifecycle cost savings.

Wysong Enterprises (Wysong) announced today from the Air Medical Transport Conference in Seattle that they have completed their 5th EMS Equipped Bell 407 this year and signed contracts for four more 407 aircraft completions this week. In addition to the 407s, Wysong also will begin work on another EMS Eurocopter AS-350 in January.
Mecaer Aviation Group (MAG) of Borgomanero, Italy, is continuing its recent growth by signing multiple contracts in advance of NBAA, 2012. Exhibiting at the convention in booth 4538, MAG will display a range of its landing gears, including those for the Eclipse E550 very light jet which launched initial production in June of this year and AgustaWestland products such as the AW109 and AW139M helicopters.
Italy deployed five NH90 Tactical Transport helicopters in Afghanistan. Operating from Herat, the helicopters perform tactical transport missions every day. This is the first time that a nation deploys operationally the NH90 on such a difficult theatre of operations.
